Meta has declared that it will close down its appearance like application, Super, on February 15, 2023.
In 2020, Meta created the live-streaming platform Super for influencers.
According to TechCrunch, the company stated that it hoped to create a virtual meet-and-greet experience comparable to that offered to users at actual conventions like VidCon or Comic-Con.
“We watched creators and fans raise money for good causes, release a new set of books, try out new jokes for standup routines, and even compete against one another in trivia. Seeing the delight and imagination in each new Super event was astounding. However, regrettably, it is time to bid you farewell,” it added.
Albeit, Super won’t be formally closed down until February, clients will not be able to make new occasions during this time, said the report.
In addition, Super joins a long list of experiments and applications that Meta has previously disabled.
Almost ten years after launching the initiative, Meta reportedly shut down its Connectivity division earlier this week.
The company announced in October that it would end its newsletter product for authors and creators called Bulletin by the beginning of 2023. In August, it also ended support for Quest 1 virtual reality (VR) headsets for “Population: One, its well-known virtual reality battle royale game.
