FIFA Introduces New World Cup Ball, “Al Hilm,” for Semifinals and Final

The Qatar FIFA World Cup will feature various match balls beginning with the semifinals. The official ball for the Qatar FIFA World Cup semifinals and finals has been named “Al Hilm” by FIFA. In the first semifinal, Morocco will play France, and in the second semifinal, later this week, Croatia will play Argentina.

The final four teams will not only compete for the greatest prize in international football, but they will also make history. The first teams to use the limited-edition match ball will be Croatia, Argentina, Morocco, and France.

The name of the match ball, “Al Hilm,” which means “The Dream,” is meant to represent the common goal that all four nations have, which is to win the World Cup, starting in the semifinals.

All of the tournament’s teams played with the “Al Rihla” ball, which translates to “The Journey” in English, prior to the semis.

The specifications of the match balls are very similar to one another. Al Hilm will also have access to the “Connected Ball” technology that Al Rihla has with built-in IMU sensors. This technology has helped officials at the World Cup make accurate offside calls.

Because it is entirely constructed of water-based ink and glue, Al Hilm is a football that is better for the environment than other footballs that have been used at the World Cup in the past. The environment was also carefully considered when developing the ball.

The design of the match ball is what really sets Al Hilm apart from Al Rihla. It has a gold base that represents the World Cup trophy and triangular designs that are identical to those on the Qatari flag.

The players should not be concerned because it is unlikely that the new match ball will perform differently than the previous one.
